Error bad argument value : positive0

Hi
When I try to insert a component with AE2010, I get this error

Specify insertion point:
Error: bad argument value: positive 0_.UNDO Current settings: Auto = On,
Control = All, Combine = Yes, Layer = Yes
Enter the number of operations to undo or [Auto/Control/BEgin/End/Mark/Back]
<1>: _END

It is only on a specific component. I did a lot of tests with the databases and symbols.
The first time the error happened was when I put the symbole HGV1 in the same folder as HGV1001.
I deleted HGV1, but I still get the error. The symbol is on the screen, but I can't edit it. I can copy the symbol and then edit the copied symbol (weird)
What can I do?

Hi,

I guess you have created the component "HGV1" of your own. You will need to
have the following naming convention in order to have a correct symbol
created:
1st Char as 'H' for Horizontal and 'V' for Vertical
Next 2 Chars as for Family name
4th Char as '1' for Parent and '2' for Child
5th Char as '1' for NO and '2' for NC
All other characters are as User defined.

From HGV1 as symbol name, you did not allocate the 5th Char hence it throw
an error exception.

Please modify the name for the "HVG1" symbol to "HGV11" and try to insert it
again. The problem should resolved. Let me know if you still get the error.

Thanks.

Best regards,
Richard

Hi Richard,

It didn't work. I can insert the component in a blank page, but I tried many projects and I always get the same error.
Could it be something linked in a project or linked to the page format I use in a project?

Before I played with the symbol, I never had this problem

Thanks
Martin

Have you purged the drawing you are trying to insert this symbol into? Even
if you delete all instances of a symbol you still need to purge the drawing
since the block definition still exists in the drawing. If that doesn't
solve the problem can you post both the drawing and the symbol in a zip
file? If you can't post it maybe you can send it directly to me at
pat.murnen@autodesk.com.
