Adding Toolbar Buttons

Does anyone know how to add buttons to an existing toolbar?
i.e. I want to add the purge button to one of my toolbars, because i use it a lot and instead of clicking FILE-DRAWING UTILITIES-PURGE I thought is might be faster to put it on the toolbar.
