Yet another bump. Still waiting Autodesk for a retainingwall SA that is useful. 5 full product cycles later ('07-'12) and nothing new in this area. Come on! Lets get this one in the next release.

Is there a particular agency or manufacturer of this type of wall system, sorry if I missed it in one of the other posts.
Well, the initial idea was generated because I was doing alot of Allan Block and Lock-Block walls at the time. But it's not neccesarily meant to be product or manufacturer specific. In fact, it could be used for cast in place concrete walls as well. Really its meant to be vary generic with maximum user control.
This retaining wall is a standard modular retaining wall used the world over. I'm about to use it on a job requiring embankment protection. I was wondering how to go about it, but I just realized that this really should be out of the box since it is the retaining wall many agencies specify. The agency for the above mentioned job specifies Keystone retaining wall units, "or approved equal." It's so run of the mill, it makes me wonder why we engineers have to spending needless amounts of time searching the internet for solutions which should be default straight-out-of-the-box, no-sweat-no-tears. This is not something exotic.
The attached image shows a simple modular block retaining wall subassembly I developed using Subassembly Studio last summer for a user group conference in Florida (FLUG)... It repeatedly constructs and stacks the block geometry until a user-defined condition, in this case a maximum wall height, is satisfied. It would be quite simple to adapt this to any shape of block, to make it stop stacking based on a surface target, add a footing, etc. The possibilities are infinite, and no custom programming is required. This will also work on any version of Civil 3D starting with 2009.
