Line Labels for Xrefs

I wish I could add a line label to an x-ref'd line. I am using Civil 09. The reason this would be helpful would be to add labels to things like existing drainage swales in the sheet view so it can be moved to be read easily.

You can label XREF lines & curves in 2009...... as long as the XREF is
inserted at 0,0,0 and has no rotation applied.

If this isn't what you want, maybe a better explanation or graphic would
help.

Oops, I just saw that you are using Civil, not C3D.....not sure if that
option is available in Civil, sorry.

Actually, it does work in Civil 09. I just realized I was trying to label a 3D polyline. Is there a way to do that? Without going in and converting it to a 2d polyline? Thanks for your help.
