USA vs. rest of the world.

"Civil 3D and Map 3D subscription customers in North America can now download
Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis Stand-Alone."

When will the software be available outside the US?

Even if it's not suitable for production purposes in other countries, we could at least test the software.

I agree on that, we are waiting for the extension to become available. Edited by: jordybrouwers on May 10, 2010 6:59 AM

While the Storm & Sanitary Analysis application is currently only available in North America as of right now, we are working on plans to make this extension available outside of North America - where the timing has not been finalized. As the product is currently only available in English only, we have to consider the localization/countrification requirements as well as channel expertise and readiness to support this application if released outside of North America and hence the reason for a phased release approach. As plans are solidified and finalzied, we will communicate this to our channel and customers.

Thanks
Mathews

Hi Andrew,

I haven't looked at Stormnet, but how compatible with Australian
Rainfall and Runoff is it?

Autodesk's previous drainage software would have to be totally
redesigned to be usable with ARR methods and data sources.

You can easily define the total amount of rainfall and have SSA distribute that rainfall from a variety of different rainfall distributions using its Rainfall Designer.

However, are there specific rainfall distribution(s) for Australia? If so, can you provide me with a reference to them so we can include them into SSA's Rainfall Designer?

Thank you

Laurie,

I've only had a small exposure to StormNet, but I know that a lot of people were glad when autodesk purchased it because as you said the storm packages supplied with civil 3d aren't compatible with ARR methods, but aparently stormnet is.

I hear you, and I will continue to work with guys like Chris and Mathews to
make it available everywhere.

When our other extensions were made available worldwide, we ran into some
concerns like Mathews states above. Our customers were disappointed that
because it wasn't specifically localized or couldn't handle their needs.

Something that would help us a great deal would be to post links to your
local standards, models, sample plans and requirements so that Mathews,
Chris, and others can build a good library of requirements.

Really.  Great.

I'll email some samples through soon.

On another note, just got SSA loaded on my computer......so far it is amazing!  A big jump from storm sewers!
