Safety Factor in SSA

I found a "Safety Factor" in SSA under Variable Timestep in Analysis Options. It has been set to 75%. How does this affect the calcs?

This only effects the Hydrodynamic routing calculations.  It is used to ensure calculation stability by adjusting the time step so that pipe/channel depths do not change excessively between time step calculations.
