Re: Hydraflow Hydrographs - Storm Distribution Files (*.CDS)

once i open up the sample.cds file and clear it to create my own custom storm distribution there is an option to save it to another name.  Everything looks great but it does not actually create the new "cds" file. PCP and IDF files are OK but no the CDS files???

anybody have this issue?

thx

Scott -

The format is simple.

First line is the time interval between the remaining lines in minutes.

The remaining lines of the CDS file format is the precipitation ratios. (between 0 and 1)

It's all text and the maximum number of rations has to be less than 2800.

Hope that helps.

What I did was make a copy of a .pcp or .cds file, then rename it whatever you want.  Open the renamed file in Notebook.  Paste in the new text.  Then save the file.  The save as in Notepad creates a .txt file which doesn't work.

I meant open the file in "Notepad".  windows is funny now and it doen't like you fooling with file extensions.  There is aa way to show them in folder options, so an alternative is to use options on the folder in Explorer and use "show extensions".  You can modify the file name then.
