I am new to part builder. I just went throught the tutorial and tried to make an endwall. In part builder, the structure looks normal, but in the drawing when I try to use the pipes and structure with my alignment, the pipe shows up but no structure on the ends. Anyone knows why? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
There is still not much information out there.
Here are a couple of tutorials on partbuilder

The one thing I have found with part builder is that the validation does not check that your values will work.
You need to check that the values you set for your part dimensions work mathematically.
For example if your structure length is 300mm and your wall thickness is 200mm then it won't work because the internals are bigger than the overall length. In this case the part doesn't show up.
Thank you for the reply. I am going over it and found some valuable information, but I haven't figured it out yet.
I am not following you on the length and width part. The width is 20 mm then it is smaller then the lenght of 200 mm. The length, width, and thickness are always measured from one point or does it change depending on headwall(for example) and base of headwall(for example). If each piece is measured from different reference point in terms of length, width and thickness, that could explain a lot. How can I know which side is a length compared to all the other.
Does the Structure height include the Base thickness?
I tried to make another structure that was a cube to make it as easy as possible, but it would not show up again. The part is saved and validated. The 2 boxes in the option dialog box are unchecked. The dimensions are set in inches and have a value with each one. The dimensions have a value and the ShBth are equations refering to the dimensions. The part has a modifier which extruded along a certain distance. I also set the placement point on the middle of the structure. I still don't understand why it's not working.
I was finally able to make a structure come in to my drawing with a problem on orientation. The problem was that the model parameter were set correctly but the values did not transfer over to the size parameter so the values(3 values) were zeros....
I am making an endwall so I need the pipe to connect to the structure in a certain way. Is there a function that will automatically rotate the structure to where the pipe is? I may have missed where it was mentioned in the tutorials so if anyone has any information regarding this I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks
It depends on how you construct the structure in the part builder.
One of the tutorials i've read tell you how it should go. From memory the pipe comes in from the left, but i'll check on that.
Thank you all for the information. I am moving forward with my structures. I seem to have missed something on the rotation of the structure when you to the profile. My structure can be placed as inlet or outlet. The rotation of course will have to change depending of it is an inlet or outlet. Does anyone know how to adjust that in either the part builder or pipe network?
I have tried to right click on the structure while in profile view and going through the structure properties and changing the rotation 180 degrees, but the structure stays in same orientation. I have tried to click on the structure in plan view and rotating it using the cyan circle, but the structure stays in same orientation in profile view.
Is there a way make the structure so that there is only one side where the pipe can connect to it?
