You've Got To Be Kidding Me

So I have decided to get 2012 going and cannot believe what just happened.

The following Errors;

ERROR: Could not instantiate AecDict!

ERROR: Some objects could not be saved in the format blah blah blah.

Ran an audit all points deleted.  As far as I recall these issues go back as far as 2006.  And they still likely relate to 3D Orbit / Visual Styles.

Has anybody else experienced this or is it me?

Kind Regards

Feckit

Yes I'm getting the same message. Everytime I switch between layouts in some files. Looks like others have the same problem.

Hello,

I have seen this message few times myself and also have checked several reports we have about it. It seems that the error means there is an object in the drawing file that is not found or is corrupted. I have seen it solved in a few very different ways that go from simple going out of program and restart of it to installing Civil Objects Enabler or running repair (from Control Panel) of program and everything in between. If the points are being removed than I would think it’s the object(s) in the drawing. Can you see if you can export your points to a TEXT file, run AUDIT and then import points from file? This may be a workaround, if we are lucky enough.

Looks like uninstalling the  Civil Objects Enabler works.... Looks like i will just have to put up with the warning at the file open And not be able to see some of the civil's work.

"Can you see if you can export your points to a TEXT file"

How do you "export your points" If i use file-->export it does not give me a "text" option.

Thanks for the suggestions.

If you choose one of the available formats such as PNEZD (comma delimited) you will in the next dialog get "Files of type" options. .txt should be one of them.

Sorry, I must be in the wrong area/commend? Is that a Full release option and not a ACAD LT?

So to export the points:

Click on "File" from the menu across the top,

Next click on "Export"

Than a pop up file broser pops up - upleft corner says "Export Data"

In the "files of Type:" it gives me the following options:

Metafile (*.wmf)

Bitmap(*.bmp)

Block (*.dwg)

V8 DGN (*.dgn)

V7 DGN (*.dgn)

There is no ".txt" option

But the uninstalling of the Civil Object enabler does seems to fix the problem.

THanks.

Kevin.

Sorry for not being clear enough. This is from Civil 3D only. If you right-click on your Points node in Prospector tab you should get an option to Export.

So that is way I can't see the option...

I guess when I googled the problem, I did not realized I jumped into the C3D forum, with my ACAD 2012lt problem...

Thanks for the input. Hope the Coders can fix this problem that occurs in C3d and ACAD Lt2012 (with the Civil object enabler).

Thanks for your help and support.
