xrefs and plotting

Hi all,

C3D 2007 SP1A

Has anyone run into this one - or is just me again..

I have a layout tab all set up with a border. In the layout tab, I have two
viewports - one for my plan and the other for my profiles (which were
created on this particular sheet. I also have xrefed a base drawing from LDT
2006. I didnt want to do anything with the base except reference it.

Evertthing looks great in the layout view. I do a plot preview and all I get
is the xrefs- no Civil 3D items EXCEPT for the profiles. I also don't get my
base border sheet in the print preview or the the finished plot. I go to my
xref and unload the base drawing and then do a plot privew and I get my
Civil 3D objects back WITH the titleblock.

Okay - so I INSERT the base into the drawing, do a plot preview and I get
everything EXCEPT for the border sheet!!!

I looked at draworder (putting the base to the back) but that didn't do
anything. Any ideas on this one? The drawing file is large (1.5 MB) and I
don't really want to publicly post it. If anyone wants my drawing, email me
privately and I'll let you take a gander at it.

Thanks,

Rick

Thanks to wfb, there is a solution to this..

For some reason unknown to either of us, I had to UNCHECK the box in the
plot dialog that says 'Plot paperspace last'. that resolved the issue and I
can now freely plot and all comes out as expected.

If anyone has any clue as to why this is the case (*cough cough* Autodesk),
I'd love to hear about it. Is it a bug?

Well, I THOUGHT I had it all working. NOW another thing pops up which is a
major roadblock.

On the plan, there are some interferences of the proposed road, so I draw
some circles in model space to show the engineer how far we need to clear
the obstruction - just simple circles!! I go to plot out a quick window of
that in model space and the #$@!! circles don't plot! I've already checked
the obvious like making sure the layer is turned on, not frozen, etc.

I can't believe how much I DIDN'T get done today!! Perhaps I'll email the
firm up in Maine who is doing the webcasts and tell them to try that out
during the live webcast. This is starting to really tick me off!
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

2 steps forward - 25 steps back! (sorry for the negative tone, but I'm truly
frustrated!)
