XREF disabled

I am noticing a oddity in our options dialog box. All our  system were originally set Demand load XREFs "enable with copy". There has been some recent saving problems and I am noticing all systems are changing demand load XREFS to disable. Is this a quirk from a service pack? I haven't heard anyone comment on it.

Joe,

I looked at both my installs 2012 and 2014 and don't notice that they've been changed.  I did notice that a couple of months ago, but I can't tell you at what SP stage we were at the time.  I've got SP3 installed now.
