Wipeout

I have been using the wipeout command and freezing the frame. When I do a plot preview it looks okay. But when I go to plot the wipeout area grayed. How do I turn off this graying of the wipeout area?

Instead of freezing the layer, turn " tframes " off.

That is what I meant to say I turned of the frame. Is there a setting under options would cause the wideout area to be grayed?

Are you printing directly to a printer?

The only issue like that I've seen involves using a DWF underlay. The DWF underlays have settings for "Contrast" and "Fade", and by default, these are set to Contrast=75 and Fade=25. One or both of these settings causes wipeouts to print grey - I think it's the Contrast setting. By changing the Contrast to 100, wipeouts will mask completely again.

That's the only time I've ever seen wipeouts print grey.

No we are not sending directly to a plotter we are making plot files and sending then out to be plotted. Like you I have never seen this.

I can't say why this is happening. It may be a problem with the plotter driver. See if there is an update.

A a workaround I would suggest setting a color or plot style to a 0% shading and assigning that color or plot style to the wipeout frames.

Are you using Adobe and making PDFs? I've noticed Adobe and some other PDF type writers can't handle CAD and Wipeouts. We fixed the problem by purchasing BlueBeam PDF writer. I think you can download a free trial to get stuff out the door right away.

We are creating PLT files but I will try BlueBeam, Thanks

You could also try the route Autodesk wants us to use, and try sending out DWF files to be printed. Or you might get a "What's a DWF?" response from your printing company. But it might work.
