Wierd thing going on in drawing environment

I just finished running some volumes using Civil3D. No problems with the
volume process though seems a little slow. However, I don't know if it's
related, but my drawing is now non functional. I can choose whatever I want
in the prospector toolspace, but my drawing space is innactive. If I hit
the escape key, the crosshairs move to where my cursor is. Pointer, works,
but no crosshair. Hitting the esc key repeats the process. If I try to
save, i get the error "drawing has a command in progress. Hit enter to
cancel or [Retry]"

Any ideas?

Ron,

The closest message I could find was:
Document "" has a command in progress. Retry/:

Is that the one you were getting? While a command is in progress, the
drawing is "locked" so that modeless tools (such as our toolspace) can't
interfere with what the command is doing. Likewise, toolspace needs to lock
the drawing before it can do anything (so that a command can't interfere
with it), and unlock it when finished.

1) Were you working on more than one drawing, or just one?
2) You were working on volumes when this happened -- do you have any
more specifics about what you were doing (commands, prospector menus, etc?).
In order to fix this, we need to be able to repeat the problem, so we'd
appreciate as many details as you can remember.
3) Were you able to type either of the keywords (retry/cancel), or was
keyboard input broken too?

Chris... Basically, that is the error I was receiving. The save command
wouldn't give me that message even until I hit the escape key. As far as I
can tell, I did not have any commands running. I have 5 surfaces in this
drawing and it was the only drawing open.

Drawing activity to this point:

1. Import surface from Land Desktop project.
2. Computed 3 set of volumes (4 surfaces involved, 4 of them compared to a
"base" surface)
After the 3rd set of volume calculations is when the problem occurred and
the symptoms of the first e-mail were noticed.

Propspecor Open. Volume workspace open. Drawing units are in meters.

If you would like me to upload the drawing to customer files I can.

Thanks for the extra information. Please upload the files -- it may help us
to repeat the problem.

I had the same problem yesterday. Unfortunately I was just goofing around so
I don't remember exactly what action caused the problem. But, same result.
Crosshairs work, but no commands and I get the same message that a command
is active so it cannot complete whatever you are trying to do. Had to
Cntrl-Alt-Del and hit End Now to get out of the loop. Just so you know it
isn't an isolated case.

No, I haven't done that at all yet. I was going through the tutorial when it
happened, and I think I was messing around with importing and adjusting
points in the Prospector? tab. I'm not sure where I lost functionality. I'll
pay more attention next time and post what I find.

Thanks for the info and drawings. I've written up a defect report so that
we can look into this further.
