Can anyone tell me why we have grading groups? I can grade an entire site, pond, tie slopes, etc., with one or several grading groups and the way they are grouped doesn't seem to affect anything...so what are they used for?
Any reason you could come up with... multiple grading schemes to see which one works best without interference between them, the ability to create multiple grading surfaces, the ability to do multiple volume calculations without clipping or bounding a surface... I'm sure there are dozensof reasons you would find it easier or harder to use a single group or multiple groups.
OK thanks. Sounds like there is nothing wrong with having all of your gradings in one group though...correct?
I don't see why there would be an issue, but I'd have to say that it would 100% depend on the specific situation. If you have more than one site, you'll need more than one grading group. I personally like to have all of my grading objects and infills in one group, but I believe that it's just preference.
