Is there a way to weed the PI lables of an alignment. so that no all vertices are labeled, short of the ctrl-select method?

I figured that would be the answer - I guess that's something to but on the wish list.
In this particular case I stationed a proposed forcemain from a pline from areial planemetrics and it labled every one of the PI and do not need vertical. I'm not sure why its not a feature already, you can weed a profile why not a alignment.
