I have created TIN volume surfaces in a drawing, then created data shortcuts.
I have created references to these surfaces in another drawing.
When I insert a surface legend table in drawing #2 reporting on the cut and fill volumes of one of the surfaces, the Cut volume is incorrectly reported (compared with the same report generated in drawing#1)
However, if I create a new TIN volume surface in drawing #2 using the same base and comparison surfaces, again using data references, the Cut volume is now correctly reported.
This does not happen with every volume surface that I have referenced.
Any ideas?
I have attached a plot showing the 2 reports with the correct one on the bottom
If you check the Surface Properties dialog for the referenced volume surface does it show the correct cut volume, or does it show the same volume as the table?
Does the referenced surface look different than the one created directly?

Please use the Accept as Solution or Kudo buttons when appropriate
Attached are screen shots of properties of source and referenced surfaces.
General statistics are the same.
TIN statistics are the same.
However, the referenced surface does not show up as being a volume surface???
I now see that the table is reporting on the elevation band volumes. The band above zero to max elevation reports the true volume. The band from minimum elevation to zero doesnt.
So I shall now rephrase my inquiry!
Is it possible to create refeferences with a volume surface?
If so, how is this done?
