Viewport Problems

We have a drawing created in Civil 3D 2009 which contains 2 viewports (plan and profile) in paperspace.  When the drawing is opened with Autocad 2008 just the profile viewport disapears (boundary is there but model space linework does not show).   Would anyone know why this happens?  I am guessing just compatibility issues?

We have a drafter that is very adept at Autocad but is not a civil drafter nor knows how to use Civil 3D.

Hi wvu9494-

Unfortunately Civil Objects, such as profile views, are not backwards compatible with previous versions. Try using EXPORTTOAUTOCAD on this drawing in Civil 3D 2009, and you should be able to open the drawing in AutoCAD 2008. However this command will reduce Civil Objects to AutoCAD primitives.

Additionally to view Civil Objects in AutoCAD you need to have the Civil Object Enabler installed on AutoCAD 2009: http://usa.autodesk.com/getdoc/id=DL11092427

Hope this helps!
