Using WellCAD data to create cross-sections in Civil 3D???

Alright, this is probably a reach but has anyone ever imported data from WellCAD into Civil 3D or any AutoCAD program for that matter? Specifically, geophysical log data...I know nothing about the software and don't know what kind of output file it can create I was just ask by one of the project managers in my office if I could create some cross-sections for him using geophysical logs or data from WellCAD.

Thanks

Put up a sample, I'm sure someone will take a crack at it.

Hi,

First check if it is binary file by opening it in a program like
Notepad. If it is, it is extremely unlikely anyone can do anything with it.

Thanks, I have not even seen a file yet. I don't even think we have it yet, but once we do I will try to open it in notepad and check. I will also post a sample if I can. I just thought I would try to do some preliminary research, so I have an idea of what needs to be done once I have the file(s).

Hi,

When you talk with the users of the program, ask them to investigate its
export options.

Many programs in the Civil world have at least an export to DXF if
nothing else. There may be an export to CSV.
