Using a surface as a hide boundary for another surface?

I found a post that says you can add a hide boundary to a surface by selecting a surface instead of an object.  Here's the link:

http://beingcivil.typepad.com/my_weblog/2012/04/autocad-civil-3d-2013-new-features-surface-as-a-hide...

I am working with Civil 3D 2014.  I do not see surface as an option for something to select as a hide boundary.  Am I missing something?  Does this feature still work in 2014?

Yes it works fine in 2014; look at the command line after specifying Hide boundary (may have to tick non destructive too)

The trick was ticking the non destructive box! Thanks!

Can you use the same technic to make a boundary? I don't want to extract the border of my surface to use as a surface boundary but instead use another surface border as a boundary.
