Using a Georectified CAD file as an XREF......

I am trying to use georectified cad file as a xref. The problem I am having is that the file doesn't place in the correct place. My file that I am working in is the same coordinate system. Is there a better way to do this? I've also tried copying and pasting, that doesn't work either.

Why don't you simply attach it, by means of _ADEDRAWINGS ..?

I have never heard of that command, but I will use it for now on! Thanks

Something doesn't make sense. If both files are on the same coordinate systems (and with same units) they should line up when XREF'd. The only reason I can think of where they wouldn't are if INSBASE is not set to 0,0 in one of the drawings or if the units variable is not set correctly in one of the drawings.

Autocad does not recognize georeferences in XREF's so it always aligns drawings according to their units and base point.

I may not understand your intent, but _ADEDRAWINGS is a map function for querying drawing data from multiple drawing sources. It is not going to help if your intent is to attach the drawings as XREF's.

You shouldn't query anything: after _ADEDRAWINGS, you only perform _ADEQVIEWDWGS to get the reference drawing on background.

It's not snappable as a XREF, but it's fully georeferenced...
