Assuming you are using Civil 3D.
Try not to think of contour lines being drawn. Do you have a surface? A
quick check is to move your cursor around the area that the surface is
supposed to be present and you should see the elevations appear near your
cross hairs. If you have a surface then you must turn on how you view it by
going to Prospector -> Surfaces -> {surface name}. Rt click "Surface
Properties" and select your style (near the bottom).

Does anyone know what causes the contour line function not to work. I've
tried creating and re-creating my surface and nothing seems to work. It does
annotate them when I use the same points in a different file, but I'd like
to know why just so I don't have the same problem again. I can use the
contour line function, it just doesn't seem to register that there is a
contour in that location. Please Help, Thanks
