transform points

Hello,

I have a drawing with points in a NAD 27 zone. The surveyor surveys in NAD 83. How can I export my NAD 27 design points so the surveyor can use them for stake out in NAD 83? I am using Civil 3D 2008 with Map.

Thanks

Create a new Point File Format, and select your NAD83 zone as the "Coordinate Zone" in the Point File Format. Make sure the Point File Format is also set to use "Grid Northing" and "Grid Easting", as in the attached image.

Then simply make sure your drawing is set to your NAD27 zone. Then, when you import/export your points, select your new Point File Format, and make sure the checkbox for "Do coordinate transformation if possible" is selected in the Import/Export dialog.

Thank you! I had created a new Point File Format but I used Northing and Easting instead of Grid Northing and Grid Easting. Once I swapped those out it worked!

Thanks again dei-feit.
