I've done a few street/sidewalk jobs, having numerous profiles (CL, BC/TC,
back of walk). I'm very happy with that aspect of Civil3D.
One of the greatest things about that type of work with Civil3D (my opinion,
based on my experience with it, of course) is that you can really spend your
time concentrating on design. The plans are an afterthought, and once you
have a reasonable understanding of styles (particularly bands), getting the
look you want is actually fun. (I like drawing.) I'm generally able to get
what I want, graphically, from the labels/styles. I have to make some
conessions, but they've been acceptable to this point.

We are in the process of converting over, and we currently use a third party
application to produce 3-line street profiles. We are looking at how civil
3d produces the profiles for street paving, and I am curious how other
companies produce the profiles, and if they like the way it looks.
