Toggle Sub Item Grips

Some of my point data will allow me to move the description, elevation, point number independently by using the Sub Item Grip. However, some of my points within the drawing don't have this option. Where can I find the information to ensure that this Sub Item Grip is available for all of the point label styles? Also, I'm not getting the pop up menu when hovering over the point data (i.e. Rotate Label, Move Label, Togle Sub Item Grips). Any help would be appreciated. Civil 3D 2011.

2011 does not have the popup hover menu (almost certain). This is a relatively new feature.

Also, you won't get all the sub-item grips if your label style was not developed with those in mind. There is no simple switch. You need to edit the label styles so each piece of text is its own separate component.
