Anyone tried it out yet?

C3D2012-x64 only at this time.
I played with it this morning and I'm already not a big fan of it. Personally, I would rather use grading groups.
I've not actually played in it yet, but I watched the videos. I hope this is indicative of where Civil 3D is headed because I believe it's much more intuitive and requires the user to learn less about the software so they can spend more time designing. I am also excited about the work flow and the impact that the use of solids should have on final deliverables.
This is cool indeed. i have been using it for a little while, not extensively. There are some nice tols for ponds.
The introduction video was a tad long in the tooth after working 12 hours, but I'll give it a closer look with fresh eyes.
I did get a kick out of the Ytube description:
The Interactive Terrain Shaping technology preview provides users with a unique workflow for developing grading proposals in AutoCAD® Civil 3D® 2012 software. The primary goal of this effort is to provide a holistic approach to terrain shaping that allows users to go from concept to completion using the same model. The intent is to facilitate the development of comprehensive grading plans that can be easily tuned through the project cycle
Holistic approach? I usually reserve that phrase for tooth-aches, and other medicinal remidies suggested by my Micro -Biotic - Vegan friends, not grading Ideas from Autodesk.
Here's a thought! While in the lab, how about working on the current grading tools.

I'll be installing later today and will look at the videos etc over the next day or so - it looks interesting
I'd also agree with Joe on grading tools - perhaps the inherent bugginess has been ironed out now and crash/bug free grading tools will be in C3D 2013 (Oops!!! just drifted off into dreamland then......)

I know it's become a buzz-word for certain types of pharmacology. But the usage does fit.

Guys
I loaded it on to my work pc that 64 bit yesterday and had a bit of a play yesterday and today at lunch time
Crashed it once most likely because I did my own original workflow not the programmers. Generally I like the concept as grading is all about 3d planes and intersections i like the object based solution. I will continue to play with it when I can at worK as only have 32 bit at home:(
Would like to give constructive feedback to Autodesk but its unclear where you post it other than here or to some email at the labs.
Typed "Define Holistic" in Google. It was at the top of the page. Looks like they have their own dictionary now.

My ukie 64 bit worked fine but it removed the SIncpac ribbon
Any editing of the CUI will remove the Sincpac tabs. This is a 'feature' of Autocad when ribbon tabs have been added programatically. Just type in SPRIBBONENABLED to get them back. Or, the next time you restart C3D they will be back as well.

Only managed to watch the videos so far - is this the death knell of the TIN being sounded??
The convert to solid seems to take a long time (8 minutes for the pond example) but on the size of model being demonstrated the gradings seemed to be quick to construct and edit. I wonder how it would perform on a larger model??
I've never been a big fan of gridded volumes (prefer triangular as better accuracy).
On the plus side it's good that a lot of the tedious intermediate steps are not visible to the user - although new users may not appreciate exactly what the software is doing and why - if this is understood, troubleshooting is much easier.
