Text Component Editor will not take changes

Sometimes if I create a new point label style I can change settings such as
"Precision" but most of the time I cannot get the change to stick. For
example, creating a new point label style in a new drawing created from the
Metric by style prot where I wish to change the Precision, the dialog will
appear that it will take the change but if you save and go back and check
the settings you will see that the change did not stick. I've checked in
the drawings "Label Style Defaults" and nothing is locked. How do you get
the changes to stick? Is this a bug or is there another device locking
these settings but is not graying out the locked fields?

Note: I did find that if you replace the formatted text rather than editing
it will work. So either there is an editing bug or the interface needs to
properly represent the existing text as read only.

Kevin,

The text component editor is used to construct a label string that is
formatted according to the modifiers that are selected on the left half of
that dialog. Edits in that control will effect the next property field
added to the label. Once you have added the property field, the formatting
information is built into the text string. For example, in the Point label,
the Elevation component looks like the following:

<[Point Elevation(Um|P3|RN|AP|Sn|ORD)]>

The modifiers after the label attribute define the formatting for this text
component. In order to change one of the modifiers, select the text
component, change the appropriate values, and select the button with the
arrow pointing to the right. This will update the formatting modifiers.

Great Post @Anonymous

It is easy to forget to click the arrow pointing right.

Also, be sure to hit [OK] when exiting the Text Component Editor and Label Style Composer.

(It is easy to lose track then and use [Cancel] or [X])
