Survey

Need to export an alignment out of C3D for survey crew. Use to do this in land with no problem. What I need is an sta / offset from alignment.

Thanks

General->Reports Manager then look in the toolspace

There are several alignments reports. Do any of them fit your needs?

You're talking about two different things - what are you wanting to show
a station and offset for? That may be best handled with an XML report.

Even better - if you're using a data collector that's not older than
dirt, why not export the alignment to XML? Import that XML file to
your data collector and you're actually shooting the alignment
definition, not points generated from the alignment. I know TDS and
Carlson data collectors allow this functionality - some even allow you
to import the profile as well so that you can draw a road template and
do slope staking with very little input needed...

I just talked to the survey crew and there data collector does not support xml. Your right though, i dont want to create a report, but want to export the alignment so that he can get the info. Any other suggestions out there.

Thanks

Without knowing exactly what you're looking for, you can set points
along an alignment - points on a set increment on tangents and curves,
and geometry points as well. If you're looking for offset points, you
can offset your alignment to a polyline and divide that object with
points creation.k If you're exporting points for a roadway, you can go
to corridors and export your codes there...esp. if you're looking for
elevations to go with those points.

What I want to do is stake the RW 44' from centerline so that utility company can see where the new RW will be located. I will take your info though, and hopefully it will work. Thanks
