Survey Toolspace not Responsive

My Survey Toolspace becomes un-responsive soon as I try to open or create a survey database.  Everything else in C3D2011 including the other toolspace tabs such as Prospector, Settings & Toolbox work fine...even after the Survey tab has become un-responsive.

If I go to survey menu pulldown and select "Edit Survey Database Settings", I get the following message "Please open a survey database before executing this command".

Any ideas?

Hi MJP42,

The reason you are getting "Please open a survey database before executing this command" is becasue you don't have your Survey Database open. This makse sense. If you go into Survey tab, open one of the available Survey Databases you should be able to edit it. 

Your other issue is more serious, IMO, and it may mean the issue could be with bad install. I would try running repair. One other suggestion I have is to see if you can change the location of your Working Folder (right-click on Survey Database node in Survey tab). See if you can set it to Civil 3D Projects directory and then check if you are allowed to create new DB. This is to see if the issue is permissions related.
