In attempting to change Survey Database Settings (especially the malignant "International Foot," as shown in appended image, which we need to be "US Survey Foot"), we find that we cannot change any of them; all of these settings appear to be locked. Why? How?
Also, is there a way to set Survey Database Settings in the template so that we never need to address this ridiculous issue again? We are, after all, a survey group in USA.
Thanks!
Did you double click to open the database, or did you right-click and choose Open for Edit? If you double click a database to open it, it opens in READ ONLY mode.
Just set your default settings, basically a template, within the survey databases. Right click the little instrument icon to the left of <survey databases> on the survey toolbar,(yes i know it is not very obvious that you can right click it). Then set all your settings there. We typically work in one zone and set our parameters accordingly and never have to worry about the international foot issue ever. Do the same thing with your drawing templates.
In response to TRogers, we right-click the database and receive the dropdown shown in the appended image. As you see, it includes "Edit survey database settings." However, when this option is picked, an uneditable list of settings appears as shown in the image accompanying my original post. How do we unlock this list of settings?
