I was wondering if anyone has had this happen or may have a solution:
I have created two surfaces and a few quick profiles.
When trying to draw a PL and roll over the surface, the OSNAP starts finding endpoints etc and then the drawing hangs up.
I imagine that it is trying to find data or something... but this is getting annoying.
If I turn of OSNAP, the problem goes away.
Does anyone know of a way that I can leave on the OSNAP and not have this happen?
Thank you and happy cadding!
I would also like to be able to keep my finger off the F3 button when copying/strecthing/moving/etc within congested areas. Seems to be something that arose around 2009 release. Sometimes, my drawings will even crash it gets so bad. Any help would be appreciated!
One day Civil 3D developers will fix this problem. I am getting sick of posting about this though! I am sick of using the F3 key. please fix this!

+1 for this fix! Anyone have any luck with a resolution or workaround? Besides F3? 5 second delays when doing OSNAP on a surface are adding up. Thanks!
Go to OPTIONS command, AEC Editor tab and turn on Object Snap in the Optimize for Speed box. Does this help your performance?
No luck here either.
