Surface problems

In the surface image attached the magenta line is a contour (492.8'). Any ideas why I'm getting triangulation down the middle? There shouldn't be anything for the surface to be tying to. Thanks,

Did you use the Minimize Flat Areas edit on the surface?

If so edit your style and disply the surface points. THis will show you the data that the command above added to your surface to prevent the contour from failing (crossing back and forth) in the flat area.

Forgot about the edits. Removed them and it fixed my surface. Thanks,
