Surface <No Name Provided>

I've seen a couple of other posts about <No Name Provided> I'm running C3D 2015. Everything was great when I left Friday. I came in this morning and opened my drawing and all of my surfaces that are data shortcut into this drawing say <No Name Provided>. Like many others, I have A LOT of profiles and cross sections that are affected. I can fix it, just wondering if anyone ever found a reason as to WHY this happens. I've repaired it once already in this project. It's a huge pain, just looking for solutions if anyone has any.

Hi Jennifer,

Possible broken path to shortcut, issue with shortcut not synchronizing correctly, surface becoming corrupt or the surface name was changed and not updated.

You may want to try the following steps below:

  1. Right mouse click on the surface name.
  2. Re-synchronize the shortcut.
  3. When prompted to select new file or update name, chose the source drawing and update the name.
  4. Save drawing.

Regards,

I remember this from a few years ago when data shortcuts will show <No Name Provided> if the layer in which the shortcut was created is frozen in the drawing.

I just encountered this as well. How great would it be to not get a new version each year but get nasty bugs like this fixed

Definitely would...... but couldn't see it happening though.
