Surface from breaklines (feature lines)

I've got a feature line around the proposed site, and another feature line for the perimeter ditch. I am going to apply different rendering materials for the site and ditch, so I've been trying to create two surfaces: for the site (PG) and for the ditch bank (DB), by adding feature lines as standard breaklines. When I added both feature lines to the DB surface it picked up the triangulation across the site. I tried to apply an outer boundary to trim the triangulation across the site but this has killed the surface. Please advise on work around...

So the site is in the middle of the of some TIN lines and the boundary is crashing the drawing?

Well here are some alternative methods:

1: Use the edits and delete the TIN Lines manually.
2: Draw the reverse of your outer border and place a hide boundary.

If you are using a destructive boundary that may cause the problem as well try a non-destructive.

Thanks for the reply. There is no crushes here. I just have one polygon-shape feature line and another feature line 8m off the first one (kind of donut effect). I need to create a surface between the feature lines and is trying to add the feature lines as breaklines. However the created surface has 'filled' the donut opening that was not desired. My question is how to maintain surface within the feature lines. I tried to apply boundary to the surface and it did not work...

First, select a surface style that displays the triangluated links. Then under the Definitions tab for the surface created, using Edits, you can create the void by deleting the link lines within the void boundary. We do this all the time. C3D will recognise there is a void created, and will not include the void in volume calcs. The void will also display correctly in profiles and cross-sections.

What do you mean killed the surface? The data disappears immediately after
adding boundary? I get this often. It comes back if you remove the boundary.

Sometimes I can fix this by dropping the midordinate distance when adding
the boundary (.5' or .1'). I have also weeded vertices & recreated
boundaries with the boundary command. I had a real tough time with one
boundary for a corridor & clearing area that was horseshoe shaped. 2d pline
boundaries created from 3dplines from the corridor always seem to give me
problems.
