Surface elevation range template

Is there a way to create an elevation range template for my surface analysis? I'd like to save out the number of ranges and the color scheme if it's possible. Thanks.

You could do it in 2007, though it was a little bit of a hack.

You can't save ranges and schemes unless you have a surface already created
in your DWT. But them you can't transfer any of that to a new surface.

since there's no prototype in Civil 3D, I think that would be a resounding
"no"

The only way is the routine that's up on the community site. The Euro
guys (Jack and Ove,) were kind enough to post it on their blog a few
months back.

What about the mapramps.xml option?
This file in the root folder of a standard Civil 3D implementation stores the default ranges (Land, Rainbow, etc).

You can manually edit this to create and save custom ranges. If you examine one of the existing schemes, you'll see that its pretty easy to create your own.

Or am I completely missing the point of the question?

You're missing that mapramps.xml doesn't get called in 2008. It's a
holdover from 2007 that's been written out of the process as part of the
internationalization efforts.

You wouldn't know unless you'd asked, so it's a good point to remember.

What I meant to say is that NONE of us would know, it was exactly
documented. I had to find out after banging my head against the wall and
finally e-mailing some smart folks in MHT to find out.
