Surface contour radius

When I grade from a feature line the contours have a zero radius where they change direction, is there a way to make them have a radius

This is just a straight feature line with no curves and I am grading to a suface. The contours leave the feature line at about 45 degrees but with

a zero radius

Do you have nodes along the feature line or just have beginning and end?

I think I understand what you are asking and the answer is no.

The reason there is not a radius on the contours is because contours are made from lines.  If you would like to smooth them you can go into the style and use the smoothing.  I would suggest staying away from splines though.  Splines really don't tell exactly how the surface is going to lay and if you get an engineer that is really particular about the slopes and the way the contours are shown.....  Well you are going to give yourself a big headache.

Now if you really want to make you drawing clean you can do what I do and use user contours to smooth everything out.  Pick the top elevation that follows the entire curve and the bottom and add a polyline curve to smooth it out.  This works well when working with Landscape architects since they like the "Pretty" contours.

Perhaps a radii in the feature line will get you closer.

additionally, contour smoothing on to some level, and finally, Smooth surface.

From what I am hearing here and other places the answer is no I cannot radius the contours the way I want

Thanks to everyone for your time and input
