Surface Contour Problems

I have added contours to my surface (the blue lines).  For some reason the surface generated contour (the orange line) is jumping across the contours I've added.  I'm sure there is a setting or something that I'm missing.  Please see attached screenshots.

Thank you!

I think that's your weeding factor.

Take a look at this blog by Brian Hailey http://civil3dplus.wordpress.com/2011/08/13/adding-contours-to-a-surface-youre-doing-it-wrong/

Also look at the weeding and supplementing factors as suggested

BTW - contours are the least robust method of building a surface but if they are all you have....

It looks like I'm still having some trouble with this.  I'm attaching the file with the trouble areas circled in red.  I would appreciate any help I can get.  Not sure why this is happening.

Thanks.

I tried it with just the blue contours and reduced the supplementing and weeding factors and it looks ok to me....

What did you drop them to?  I thought I tried doing that and had the same result.  I will try again.

It's on the screenshot - it's usually a bit iterative to get the contours to look correct; hence my previous comment about contours being the least favoured objects with which to build surfaces

Sorry, I didn't notice the attachment.

Unfortunately, the engineer didn't provide much for us to use other than a couple of spots and contours.
