Can anyone provide a recommendation regarding the best sub-assembly to use for the following design problem?
We are designing a road that will have a 4m wide lane (sloped at 2.5%), a 1m wide shoulder (sloped at 5%), and then a 2:1 slope down to a drainage ditch. The ditch must be a minimum of 0.30 meters below the projection of the lowest subgrade elevation to the 2:1 slope. At the same time, the bottom of the ditch must be at least a minimum of 0.50 meter deep relative to the daylight cut slope.
From the hinge point of the shoulder, we transition down with a link at 2:1 to an elevation that corresponds to the subgrades projection. Then we build a ditch with the required parameters using the conditional cut/fill assembly.
In cut scenarios this works easily because our structural section thickness + 0.30m min below the projected subgrade elevation is always greater than the 0.5m minimum below daylight elevation.
In fill scenarios it is a little trickier! Is there a subassembly that can incrementally check the daylight cut depth and adjust the depth of the ditch (to be greater than 0.30 meters) relative to the projected road subgrade elevation so that the min 0.50m depth requirement below the daylight cut elevation is also satisfied?
I attached a scan of a hand sketch that can hopefully help with a visual. Thanks in advance for any recommendations you can offer!
Thanks,
Ryan
