I havent run in to this before. we have a alignment that starts at and 10+00 and want to label majors every 400 feet, but it label 10+00, 12+00, 16+00? Why not 10+00, 14+00, +18+00?
it appears to internaly calc from 0+00, 4+00, 8+00, 12+00, 16+00

Correct! The behavior you are looking for has been requested somewhere between 5 and 5000 times, yet C3D still uses the archaic "start from 0". Unchanged as of C3D 2015.
Change the start value to 10+00 and change the major labels cu 400 feets from Alignments properties and from Alignmets Labels.
All these steps are after you start with 0+00.
I have been complaining about this since softdesk.
If you create your alignment using 0 as your reference station and set up an expression to add 1000 to it, it will display properly. Then again, expressions have to be set for everything that is being labelled with a station.
For 1 project, I wouldn't bother. just label every 200 and delete the ones you don't want. For us, it is standard, therefore in the template.
