Spliiting Materials' tables

I have created Section views that have accompanying materials' tables that list Seven different materials. Adding the Title and headers, the table has a total of nine rows. I hoped to split the tables up to a maximum of four rows each. Unfortunately the option of "Split" in the materials table dialog box, which I thought would suffice, doesn't split them even when "yes" is selected. However, when I split a materials table already in model space using the tables' properties, it obeys.

How can I split these tables en masse?, is the question.

Pick the several tables at once, then pick Table Properties.

Tried that Tim. Only adjusts the first selection made. others tables in selection are not split.
