SLOW FEATURE LINES

When working on a design surface we use feature lines, corridors & grading objects. Sometimes while working with the feature lines they will begin acting very slow to take input such as grade, elevation....The first elevation that you type in works at normal speed, the second input and everyone thereafter takes about 10 seconds to accept the elevation or grade. They act the same way if you edit an elevation, offset the line or manipulate it in any way. This behavior seems to come and go but we cannot figure out what the trigger is. We have seen it in multiple drawings. It is painful when you are trying to get the project done. Thanks for the help.

Have you tried running any of these commands?

Yep, we are pretty good at keeping the sites clean and will use:

  • AeccFindSiteOverlaps

  • AeccRemoveDupFeatureLines

  • AeccRemoveAlignmentsFromSite

  • AeccRemoveDupLotLines

to clean up the sites, but this has not helped the slow feature line issue in some drawings. I can add that the larger the database the longer the pause when using feature line commands. It almost like the program has to "think" about all of the feature lines in the database before continuing with the command.
