Sites Disappear when Feature Lines are "MOVED"

I am working with grading in Civil 3D 2014. Whenever I create a Feature Line in say "Site 1" and later use the "MOVE TO SITE" command on that Feature Line to move it to say "Site 2", "Site 1" disappears; even if there are still Feature Lines remaining in "Site 1". Now I cannot access any data that is in that Site (Site 1.) (Also, occurs with "COPY TO SITE") Is this the way it is supposed to function? (I doubt it) Is my workflow incorrect? (Possible) Is there a fix? (I sure hope so)

The issue your describing sounds the This "Move to Site command deletes the original site" issue I encountered.

Is the dwt your using by chance derived from the OOTB 2014 C3d Acad.dwt ?

I recommend sending in a subscription support ticket to report the issue to Autodesk.

While it has been reported by myself & likely others, this is a very critical function which

seriously cripples work flows.

Please also consider submitting direct product feedback to Autodesk re: this issue at the following link:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=1109794

It's been reported that dwt's created using the 2013 Acad.dwt do not exhibit this behavior.

The more people that let Autodesk know of this problem the better the chances that maybe it will be considered important enough to fix in a future Service Pack.

I had a problem drawing that deleted feature lines when running the Audit command... I lost a lot of work.

Support told me to get everything out of there and into the NCS.dwt. Once doing that I never had the problem again in the NCS.dwt based drawing.

I appreciate both of your inputs here. I received the template from a previous provider. So, I have no background. My solution was to begin with the NCS.dwt, Purge the data I didn't want, Insert the "Company.dwt (dwg)" as a block to import the Layers, Import Styles and Settings from the "Company.dwt" So, far it appears to be working properly. Now, I will attempt the process of inserting Entities and Objects from the "corrupted" drawing. I'll keep you posted with the result of this process.

So, I have "cleaned out" the NCS.dwt. of style, inserted my company standards drawing as an exploded block to bring in the layers, set up the Layer Standards in the Drawing Properties and imported my styles from the "corrupted" .dwt. After a week or so of testing, everything appears to be working properly. Thanks for all of the input I sincerely appreciate the assisatnce.

I think something happened to all of the acad templates in 2013 that messed things up.

If you do not want to use the NCS template find an old 2012 version of acad.dwt and insert your template into that. Configure the C3D drawing settings and you should be set to go.

John Thanks for the tip. I saved the "blank" template for later if necessary.
