show horizontal curve limits on the profile view

If I wanted to show horizontal curve limits and radii on the profile view (just as a design tool, not for final presentation), should I be looking into a band style or some other profile view/label option? Thanks.

It sounds like you want a vertical curve label placed on the profile.

No, I want to see what's happening in the horizontal alignment while I'm looking at my profile (pc's pt's curve radii); I've already got profile labels for vertical geometry. I had some training in MX Roads software last week, saw this on the profiles and thought how useful this is; I figured there must be a way to do this in Civil 3D 2010 and hoped someone could point me in the right direction.

Not going to tell you what you should do - but a profile band will give the information you are asking for and more if wanted. A little editing of the horizontal Geometry band style may be required. I have a band that gives the PC and PT Chainage, Curve length and Radius of my horizontal curves.

That sounds great to me - exactly what I was hoping for. I'll take your advice, thanks.

Perhaps if you went to your current Profile View Style and selected the
Display Tab, turn on the "Grid at Horizontal Geometry Point".

Miked and WFB, I used both your posts and got what I wanted; it came out great and I posted a PDF so you can see what the final product looks like. This is a huge benefit to our design process, so thanks again.

Hi Bubba,

For posting screen views to the newsgroup, look at using the AutoCAD
PNGOUT command.

You will get a file which is viewable in a newsreader, is far smaller
than the bloated PDF format and one which doesn't rely on downloading
and installing software which doesn't come with the Operating system.

Heh,
or at the vary least use DWF's . Autodesk is hosting the
newsgroup after all.
