Shared Assemblies on a Network??

I am trying to create a custom collection of Assemblies to be shared from our network.
I have changed my support path to the network location for the toolpalettes.
I created my custom palettes.
I have created my custom subassemblies, these will come in fine from the network location.
I then start a drawing using our template, create my custom assembly, save the drawing the the network location in the support path for tool palettes.
Click on the Assembly and drag it to my custom tool palette.
It places the assembly on the palette.
Save and close Civil / Civil 3D.
Reopen click on the custom assembly in the tool palette and it asks me to Specify location for Assembly.
Can see Assembly base line.
Click on screen and nothing happens.
Any ideas what i might be doing wrong here.
Thanks,

When you drag an assembly onto a tool palette a DWG gets created on your
hard driver (not the network). yes, the tool got created, but when your
other coworkers attempt to use it, they can't find the DWG on your drive.

There was an AU class on how to fix this by Nick Zeeben. If you have login
credentials, you can find it and download it.

It was called
Conditions for Success: Using the Conditional Subassembly in AutoCAD® Civil
3D®

You can find it here

Does anyone know where to find a copy of this training class by Nick  Zeeben? I'm having the same issue in C3D 2012. I can publish the catalog in a network location, create a registry file, load the catalog from anonther pc, but it still can't locate the dwg assembly file.

??????????

Here's a LINK to the class's PDF handout. Page 17 is where this info begins.

Thanks for the link Jeff. I'll try this today and see what happens.

This thread is marked as solved, but I can't get my subassemblies and assemblies to work on a shared tool palette. Is there perhaps something that wasn't mentioned? I'm trying this in c3d 2016...

After investigating this for a while I'm starting to believe this only works with ootb subassemblies. SAC generated subassemblies must be preloaded to the user's harddrive before a user can add a predefined assembly (with the previously mentioned subassembly) to a drawing using toolpalettes? Can somebody confirm this?
