Select ALL when Zoomed to Extents (no grips visible!)

Traditionally, when one held down the CNTRL+A, one selected all objects in a drawing, and these were then illuminated by grips.  This was nice when one had a drawing in which there might be one small distant outlying object, such that when the zoom>extents was used, everything disappeared because this one object was miles away from the main drawing area.  The CNTRL+A would light up this outlier with a grip, enabling one instantly to find it and clean it up.

In Civil 3D 2014, when I zoom>extents and use the CNTRL+A, no grips appear, and therefore small distant outlying objects cannot be seen.  Is there some variable that needs attention in order to activate the grips in such a scenario?

Many thanks!

Sounds like your setting variable for GRIPOBJLIMIT needs to be increased.

Initial value is 100 and maximim is 32,767.
