Screen Encroachments

Real_Estate_2.PNG

Fighting for pixels as I play with 2014. Didn't the Command Line used to be part of the lower status bar? I can move that to another monitor, but is there a better way?

And what about the Tab and the View Box? I don't remember them being in the way on 2010. Can I get rid of them?

Every thing is still the same.  Just drag it to where you want it.  It may take a few trys, however.

1. Options: Display File Tabs -> uncheck

2. DisplayViewCubeIn2D -> OFF

3. You can either turn off the command widow or make it transparent.

1)  The Command line can still be resized and docked to the left, right, top, or bottom or floated anywhere on either screen as previous, but it's not anchored to the bottom by default any longer.

2) Drawing Tabs were a popular addin previously, now they're part of AutoCAD.  Turn them on or off in Tools > Options > Display > Window Elements > Display File Tabs  (or use the Sysvar which I don't know off the top of my head)

2b) Immediately under the Drawing Tabs, are the new Viewport Controls  Tools > Options > 3D Modeling > Display the Viewport Controls

3) I believe the ViewCube has been "ON" by default since it's introduction.  Tools > Options > 3D Modeling > Display the Viewcube.  (sysvar NAVVCUBE)

Hi Bill,

Where I'd like to drag the Command Line is onto the Lower Status Bar. That doesn't seem to be possible. For now, I've just set it to Two-Lines and those fade in a few seconds. Irritating, but I'll get used to it.

As for the Tab at the top, I just found out how to get rid of it:

View Tab >> User Interface Panel >> File Tabs

As for the View Box, I'm still working on that one. I don't need it for 2D Wireframe, the vast majority of my work. If I can get rid of the UCS Arrows, I should be able to get rid of the View Box. I persevere.

You can't drop it on to the lower status bar, but you can do this:

1. Un Maximize Civil 3D

2. Drag the command line to where the status bar was (when Maximized)

3. Re-Maximize Civil 3D

It won't be perfect, but it should be pretty close

Thanks Peter. I tried it, and that kinda works, but I think I'll just move it around and find where it's least in the way.
