Scaling a group of points found under 'Import Events'

Can a group of points under Import Events (I have two events), have a scale factor applied to it AFTER they have been imported? I have received one set of survey points that are ground and the other that is grid and needs to be scaled to bring to ground. I'm new to Civil 3D, but have used MicroSurvey for a number of years.

What you could do is insert them into a blank drawing, unlock them, scale them, then remove those points from the DB and add them back into the DB from the drawing.

Be careful when scaling' the elevations will scale as well. See the link below (the images for whatever reason are gone)

Thanks for your help - AGAIN - Matt! Always good suggestions. Would this issue be adressed in C3D 2015? I think, after reading more of the feedback, that 2 dimensional scaling (Z= x1.00) applied to point groups would be a welcome addition.

It's possible, but I doubt that this behavior will change for 2015, just my gut feeling.  We won't know until it's released...whenever that is.

In your survey database settings you can turn a Scale factor correction. This applies a scale factor to all observed distances upon import of a FBK file.

So if you are dealing with and observation FBK file, work out the scale factor, enter it in the FBK file SCALE FACTOR XXXX, then reimport the FBK.

I don't think it scales any NEZ control points but if you have the correct values for your starting points in the FBK you should be fine.
