The error message may suggested that there is corruption in the drawing file, or that the fonts specified in the drawing are not available in any of the supports paths in the user profile. Sometimes the font references are not available in the drawing. In many cases, this issue occurs when the Support File Search Path for fonts is missing or incorrectly set, or if the network font directory is higher in the Options list than the local font folder. To ensure that the fonts’ path is set correctly, please follow the steps below.

1.     Type OPTIONS at the command line.

2.     Select the Files tab.

3.     Expand the Support File Search Path tree.

4.     Look for the following entry: C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2015\Fonts. If the entry is not there, add it and restart the computer.

If the entry is there, make sure that any network font directories are lower in the hierarchy than the local font directory.

As an alternative, you may try to remove all references to the font from the template and hopefully it would take care of the issues. Other alternative beside removal and swapping fonts may be to copy all custom fonts into the Font directory. These are some of the things I would suggest. There are a few threads on DG here with this.  Worth checking.

Thanks for this - the Fonts path was indeed missing and adding seems to have removed the error
