Report Manager Problems

Two problems:

1. My Station_Curve alignment reports through Reports Manager change my stations from 1+000 format to 10+00. What controls this?

2. My Profile PVI Station and Curve reports are empty.

Any suggestions on these two?

Perhaps you have Metric and Imperial meshed. One assumes you are using
Metric.

1. I am using metric. The stations all show correctly on the plan, in the profile, in Alignment Properties, in the Alignment panorama, everywhere but in the Report.

2. There is data in the PVI Station Increment report and the PVI Stations report, but nothing in the PVI Station and Curve report except start and end stations (these have the correct station format).

1. This is an XML report. Edit station output type the LandXML Reporting
program found in the C3D section of the Start Menu.

2. This is a .NET report. I get the same result....will look into this at
lunch time (a little over an hour from now)

I found Autodesk LandXML Reporting 7 under my Civil 3D 2009 programs and changed the station format there. This worked for the reports in Civil 3D 2010. I never thought of looking there.

Hmm, that's odd. After posting I recalled that 2010 fails to create the
shortcut in the C3D2010 programs folder. You can copy the one from 2009 to
2010 and change the name/file pointer to use the LandXML Reporting 8
program.

Now for the Vertical Curve reports. Attached is a ZIP file with a revised
DLL that corrects the 2 reports. Replace the one in the .NET reports folder
with this one. Note - Backup the original first! And, keep a copy of this
one because future SP's will likely overwrite it and if Adesk hasn't fixed
it at that point it will be back to being broken. Alternatively, rename this
DLL and point the Reports Manager to use it instead of the original.

I'm submitting the fix to the guys in Manchester.

I am just getting back to these problems with a new group of students. I have 2 questions on your last response.

1. Where do I find the name/file pointer that you refer to?

2. Where is the .NET reports folder in which to place the dll file?

First #2. You can place them wherever you want. You can see where the
default folder is based on the answer to #1 which is...

Go to the Toolbox tab of Toolspace, in the top left corner are two icons,
the left is to edit the Report Settings, the right is to edit the Toolbox
content, click the one on the right. Now in the Panorama browse to the
desired Report. In the Properties window it will show which file and which
macro name is used with that report. You can either point that report to the
new one, or create your own entry in the Reports manager to point to it.

In the path to the file you will likely see "%DataDir%". This is a symbolic
link that C3D uses to point to the "C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\C3D
2010\enu\Data" folder.
