RENAME SURFACE VOLUME RANGE

When showing a volume table it displays the range number. I am wanting it to automatically label the cut or fill. if there was a way to change the name of the range in the analysis tab of the volume surface this would be easy to acheive. does anybody know if you can change this from a number to a name?

i am using civil3d 2012 win7 x64...

Nope, you can't do that with Civil 3D out-of-the-box. Those numbers are hardwired in and you can't even delete the column from the table style.

If you outline each range for which you want to calculate, it's simple to use Volumes Dashboard to calc the bounded volumes and make a table, with names of your choosing, and cut/fill volumes.
