Rename "Pipe Name" based on downstream & upstream parts?

Is it possible to rename pipes in a pipe network based on the downstream and upstream parts? 

As in after you've gone through and laid out your network.  I don't think it's possible in the settings before you start laying out the network.

So if a pipe is connected to structure A-1 and A-2, the lisp routine (or whatever) would rename the pipe name as "A-1 to A-2"...

Seriously I'd love to know the answer to this one too--I've never figured out an automatic method and had to do it manually.  And since SSA and Hydraflow both name by pipe rather than by structure (grr.....) it becomes hard to just skip it.
